Don't Start Tying Strings to This

Don't Start Tying Strings To This (2006)

The band's first album, recorded over the space of a week in Logan's parents' lounge. Surpassing initial expectations to sell in excess of sixty copies, this debut was an unmitigated success! Although the technical quality may be somewhat lacking, the band remains more than satisfied with the quality of the songs presented in this first effort.

During the production of Don't Start Tying Strings To This, Fossilized also recorded a number of extra songs, intending them to be hidden "easter eggs" on the data portion of the disc. As these accumulated, however, the band realized that the songs were of sufficient quality to justify a proper release. Therefore, this "appendix" to the album was created. This was limited to 50 copies, not least because we had to craft the packaging by hand!

Aubergine Songs

Aubergine Songs (2007)

Originally envisioned as a pair of themed EPs named "Apricot" and "Aubergine", this collection is notable for some more adventurous arrangements: from the guitar-and-saxophone intimacy of "Pinned", to the mad glockenspiel-ing of "Oh No!", to the everything-and-the-kitchen-sink mix of brass instruments, background singers, and banjo-mandolin in the epic "So Long the King of Fools". While the ambition of the CD at times exceeds the band's then-limited technical production ability, this disc acts as a showcase for Fossilized's vast array of musical influences, and foreshadows greater things to come... Roll on 2009!
